Subject: improve chess at woodpushers

Message:
The Woodpushers, a great team, we are only just over 2 months old and are already in the top 20. Although of recent we have had unfair challenges, our captain has finally started doing very fair challenges, for example, check out the last 5 team challenges that we have accepted. As a team, we are having some members of the team that will be an instructor, they will be like a mentor coaching and improving there chess. Therefore…..it will take a lot of dedication and hard work, lots of analysis work and that will be done by both players. Therefore, I am offering a gameknot member regardless of there rating, to come and join us now, and you will be teached to play chess. Even fairly high rated players such as 1800 players can also apply, as we have a very strong team. Please reply on this forum and via our captain davism if you want to apply. Please send an application to us, and tell us why u want to improve, how much effort and dedication you will put in, to improve your game, and lots of effort to help the team. We will also want you to be very very active on our team forums and write lots of posts, you must be a hard worker.

Remember, this is a chance to join this team, and dramatically improve your game, you must send in a very good application, we are not bothered about rating but dedication. Therefore, please tell us about yourself in detail

We look forward to your application

Best regards

woodpushers

Cheating team

Message:
This team encourages cheating. It's captain does not even have posting or messaging privileges. See the two threads in team forum dated 12/26 and 12/27
entitled "cheater....this is wrong". Stay away from this team and team captains do not play this team. They are documented cheaters.

World still trying to peg Fischer — Bobby Fischer is a phenomenon whom we see through a glass darkly. Yasser Seirawan, a former U.S. chess champion, said in his book "No Regrets" that, after spending a day and a half with Fischer in 1992, he was convinced that 60 percent of what had been written about him was incorrect. Two meritorious — even brilliant — accounts of Fischer’s life were recently released: the book "Endgame" by Frank Brady and the HBO documentary "Bobby Fischer Against the World" by Liz Garbus. Both deservingly generated praise. But, according to some readers and viewers, neither biography provides a gut understanding of his complex behavior. Garbus seems to attribute Fischer’s difficulties in later life to ...

And I Got Voted Off the GK Forum

Message:
to the Team Forum for posting a message like this (for a team never under suspicion for cheating!). I will not vote this to the Team Forum because I think it was unfair that my thread was voted over there. But the point remains to be made.

Topalov Takes on the Irish National Team — When elite chess competitors take on a number of weaker opponents in simultaneous exhibitions, the stronger chess player has to move from board to board and has little time to formulate strategies. Rarely are the weaker players even on the master level. But in the 1980s, Garry Kasparov, who was then world chess champion, began giving exhibitions in which he took on groups of top-level chess players. They were timed, so Kasparov had to move faster than his opponents. After losing the first of the so-called simuls against a strong club team from Germany in 1985, Kasparov won every other one he played. Between 1987, when he won a return match against the Germans, and 2001, when he beat ...
