Message: Alas, i dont have a newer version of chessmaster, nevertheless, It says at the top level, its rated around 2727. I wanted to know how accurate this elo rating is. Simply becuase i have been able to draw against it, and a few days ago i actually beat it. At what time control does it play at its best etc etc. One other thing: theres alot of talk about anti-computer strategies etc, does that mean we can all use them and beat a computer?. It makes me feel down becuase i know i wont be able to beat or draw against a human 2727 player. Linking in, which computer chess program plays most like a human and is less prone to anti computer techniques.
Having said that, i think computer chess programs are tough to beat, becuase of theier calculating abilities -they never miss a tactical shot.
All view welcome, Thanks

Merim Bilalic at the University of Tübingen in Germany used fMRI to scan the brains of eight international chess players and eight novices while they identified either geometrical shapes or whether the pieces on a chess board were in a check situation. The expert players were quicker at solving the chess problem, activating areas on both sides of their brains as they did so. The novices used just the left side. Bilalic had expected ...
