hi i'd play a game with you in it if you like. we can start a new game after our current one maybe.

I prefer 3.Nc3 also.
but watch out for the winawer - 3...Bb4. it's very popular, and i find it pretty tough to play against. I want to study it in more depth, so that i can be more confident in 3.Nc3.

here's a sample game of mine, which i lost:

-------
me VS opponent (61 minutes sudden-death time controls, may 2004)

1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3.Nc3 Bb4 4.e5
this closes the position. white can play other moves like exd5 or Bd2. i think i prefer to play 4.exd5 now.
4...c5 5.a3 Bxc3 6.bxc3 Ne7 7.Bd3 Qa5 8.Bd2 c4 9.Be2 Nc6 10.f4 Bd7 11.Nf3 o-o-o 12.Qb1 Kc7 13.a4 Nc8 14.Qa2 Ne7 15.Qa3 Bc6 16.Kf2 h6 17.Qb4 b6 18.Qxa5 bxa5
the isolated and doubled a-pawns aren't as weak as they probably are in most cases. can't be snapped up by white or anything.
19.Ra2 Nb6 20.Rha1 Rb8 21.Bc1 Kd7 22.Ke1 Rb7 23.Kd2 Rg8 24.Ba3 Ng6 25.g3 f6 26.h4
maybe a mistake?
26...f5 27.Bc5 Nc8 28.Kc1 Nh8 29.Rb2 Rxb2 30.Kxb2 Nf7 31.Ka3 Nb6 32.Bxb6 axb6 33.h5 g6 34.hxg6 Rxg6 35.Rg1 Rg7 36.Nh4 Nh8 37.g4 Ke7 38.Rg2 fxg4 39.Bxg4 Bd7 40.Bh5 Rxg2 41.Nxg2 Kf8 42.Nh4 and Black Resigns

comments encouraged :)

I agree premium_steve I also find 3...Bb4 the most challenging answer to 3.Nc3 and an understanding of its deep theoretical possibilities at our level can be most difficult. An interesting position that is quiet rare in the winawer is 1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3.Nc3 Bb4 4.e5 c5 5.a3 cxd4!? an interesting move which is not very common. Here I think the best strategy is 6.axb4 dxc3 7.Qg4!? this move which is very common in the winawer seem appropriate for the position to avoid white doubling his pawns. However I'm not all that familiar with the interesting 5...cxd4 any french players play this move with black?
qistnix I can't challenge you at the moment I am playing to many games, but I will later.
